28. 職人さん紹介 28. Introducing the Craftsmen
建築工事を始めようとすると、よく「自分を工事に混ぜてくれませんか？」と自己推薦（？）してくる人々がいます。カオリのところにも、そういう人が声をかけてきました。カオリは建築に関しては素人です。だから自分が信用おけると判断した円谷さんにすべてをオマカセしているわけです。そんなカオリに、そのような申し出をしてくる人もどうかと思いますよね。どのようなお仕事でもそうだと思いますが、リーダーの気心が知れた方々にお願いする方が、全体としてうまくいくのデス。いくら施主であっても、建築のプロジェクトメンバーの人選に口を出すべきではないと思います。信頼してお願いしたのであれば、人選も含めてすべてお願いするのが筋を通すことだと思います。それはたとえ脅されたって譲ってはいけないところだと思っています。もちろんカオリは即答でお断りしましたが、みなさんもそういう人々には十分注意しましょう。 When you begin a construction project, there are often people who approach you saying, “Could you let me join the work?”—as if they are recommending themselves. Someone like that even contacted Kaori. Kaori is an amateur when it comes to building a house, so she entrusted everything to Mr. Tsuburaya, whom she judged to be trustworthy. It is questionable for anyone to make such an offer directly to Kaori in the first place. In any kind of work, things generally go more smoothly when you ask people the leader already knows and trusts. Even as the owner, Kaori believes you should not interfere with choosing the members of the construction team. If you have decided to trust someone, it is only right to trust them with everything—including selecting the team. That is something you must not give up, even if someone pressures you. Kaori refused immediately, and she hopes you will also be careful with such people.
上棟式でお会いした、建築に関わるすべての職人さんをご紹介いたします（順不同）。一級建築士の円谷さんも含めて総勢１１名の職人さんです。これからカオリの別荘建築をお願いする、大事な方々です。きっと素晴らしい別荘を建築して頂けるものと信じています。 Here is an introduction to all of the craftsmen involved in the construction whom Kaori met at the framework-raising ceremony (in no particular order). Including Mr. Tsuburaya, the first-class architect, there are eleven professionals in total. These are the important people who will be building Kaori’s vacation house. Kaori truly believes they will build a wonderful home.
