Tennonoma Memorial Park is a small park. The “Tennonoma” building from the former Shiobara Imperial Villa was moved here and opened to the public.
The pure Japanese-style architecture and the exhibits inside show the daily life of the imperial family.
The park is surrounded by the nature of Nasu-Shiobara and is a quiet place to think about history.

The building called the “Tennonoma” from the former Shiobara Imperial Villa was moved here and opened to the public.

The former Shiobara Imperial Villa is known as the place where Emperor Taisho stayed for medical treatment. Later, Emperor Showa and other members of the imperial family used it as a summer retreat. The Japanese-style exterior has a dignified look.

Inside the building, many exhibits show the lifestyle of the imperial family.

There is even a traditional lavatory. People say that attendants waited below the building while it was in use.
