Omaru Onsen Ryokan is a hot spring inn at an altitude of 1,300 meters.
People know it as a quiet, hidden hot spring in the mountains.
Its most famous bath is "Kawa-no-Yu", an open-air bath where hot spring water flows like a river through the pool.
In winter, you can bathe while you look at the beautiful, snow-covered scenery.

年末最終日の雪が降っている時に、何故か山の上まで車で来ているカオリです。
途中でタイヤがスリップしないかとヒヤヒヤでした。
On the last day of the year, snow was falling as I drove up the mountain.
I felt nervous and worried that the tires might slip on the road.
何故こんな所に居るのかと言うと、今日は一年間の疲れを癒しに、噂の秘湯へはるばる訪ねて来たのです。
I came all the way here to visit this famous hidden hot spring and to rest from one year of fatigue.
それは、大丸（おおまる）温泉旅館にある日帰り温泉です。
This day-trip hot spring is located inside Omaru Onsen Ryokan.
受付は１５時３０分まででしたが、何とかギリギリ間に合いました。
Reception for day-use bathing ends at 3:30 p.m., but I arrived just in time.
これが有名な川の湯です。
湧き出た源泉をそのまま露天風呂としているそうです。
露天風呂は混浴ですが、女性には専用の内湯も用意されています。
This is the famous "Kawa-no-Yu".
The natural hot spring water flows directly into the open-air bath from the source.
The open-air bath is mixed-gender, but there is also an indoor bath reserved for women.
あ～気持ち良かったぁ。
いい具合に雪も積もっていて、秘湯の雰囲気が抜群でした。
カオリは気に入ってしまいました。
やっぱり温泉を一番楽しめる季節は冬ですねぇ。
It felt very good.
The snow had piled up softly and made the hot spring feel very secluded.
I liked this place very much.
I think winter is the best season to enjoy hot springs.

露天風呂には、男女とも受付の時に渡される「緑色の大型のバスタオル」を巻いて入ります。
混浴の露天風呂に、意外と女性も多く入ってくるのにきっと驚くはず。
カオリももちろん、バスタオルを巻いて露天風呂に入りました。
混浴は何となくドキドキしますね～。
In the open-air bath, both men and women wrap a large green bath towel around their bodies.
You receive this towel at reception.
You may be surprised to see many women in this mixed open-air bath.
I also wrapped my towel around myself and entered the outdoor bath.
A mixed bath feels a little special and exciting.
