茶臼岳 Mt. Chausu
茶臼岳は、ロープウェイを利用して標高を一気に上げたあと、本格的な山歩きが楽しめる活火山です。
９合目付近まで行ける山頂駅からは、岩場の多い急な登山道を歩いて、本当の頂上を目指します。
子供連れでも登れますが、足元に気をつけながら、無理せず登山体験を楽しんでみてくださいね。

Mt. Chausu is an active volcano where you can enjoy real mountain hiking after you ride the ropeway up.
From the ropeway summit station near the ninth station, you walk a steep rocky trail toward the true peak.
Children can also climb, but please watch your step and enjoy the hike without pushing too hard.

ロープウェイで山頂駅まで行けます。
You can ride the ropeway to the summit station.
ロープウェイの山頂駅はまだ９合目くらいですので、茶臼岳の本当の山頂までは、険しい山道を歩くことになります。
子供連れでも登れますが、岩が多く急登ですので注意が必要です。
The ropeway summit station is still only around the ninth station, so you must walk a steep, rough trail to the true summit.
Children can climb too, but there are many rocks and steep slopes, so you need to be careful.
子供は大人よりも体力があるので、どんどん登ってしまいます。

それにしても険しくて、かなり本格的な登山道なのには驚きます。

The trail is steeper and more like real mountain climbing than I expected.
でも実は、山を降りるときの方が足元の岩石が崩れるので、怖かったりします。
In fact, going down can feel scarier, because some rocks under your feet may move.

ロープウェイで山頂駅まで行って、そこから茶臼岳の頂上までは徒歩で４５分程です。
ゴツゴツした岩場で、結構、本格的な「山」なので、ナメてはいけません。
きちんとした服装と靴で登ることをお薦めします（岩場が苦手な人は登るのはやめておきましょう）。
茶臼岳は「ロープウェイで途中まで登れるのであとは楽勝？」と考えると、意外ととんでもない目に遭います。
子供連れの場合は、行けるところまで行ってみようという気持ちで、無理せず登山体験を楽しむと良い感じになります。
From the ropeway summit station, it takes about 45 minutes on foot to reach the top of Mt. Chausu.
The path is a rocky mountain trail, so you should not underestimate it.
I recommend proper clothing and shoes. If you are not used to rocky trails, it may be better not to climb.
If you think “the ropeway goes most of the way, so the rest is easy,” you may be surprised by how hard it is.
When you climb with children, it is best to go only as far as you feel safe and enjoy the mountain without pushing too much.
